The [Uncertain to Unstoppable programme] has been incredibly helpful.
I'm happy to share that my manager has noticed my progress, particularly in how I manage stakeholders and communicate with Type-A personalities. It’s been encouraging to see that effort paid off. Additionally, [I've had] positive experiences with colleagues that boosted my confidence.
Thanks again for your support, it’s made a real difference.
Hey there, I'm Angeline Chan!
I've had many years of feeling like an imposter through my career.
If you've ever felt this weight bearing down on your entire being, making you feel anxious just thinking about speaking out, and stopping you from taking on challenges that would honestly, help grow you professionally or just as a person? I understand that. I was that person. And when I did take action, I would feel like an imposter in the room, worried that the people around me would expose me for who I am: a fraud.
It didn't matter that people said I did a good job, if one person said otherwise, it obviously meant that I wasn't. And that, unfortunately, just made me feel MORE like a fraud.
That was how I felt through many years in my tech career, as a developer, an Agile Business Analyst, Consultant, Agile Coach and Team Lead.
I went through a journey through all those years, learning to manage my own feelings of being an imposter, and realised at some point, that those heavy feelings were no longer hanging around, holding me back.
Yes, I would still have those feelings of being an imposter come up once in a while, but instead of consuming me, they would show up for just a couple of moments, and then pass.
Since then, I managed to advocate for my own promotion, and had the courage to change my career to a full-time life and career coach. I have now taken my learnings, put them together and am excited to share them with other women in tech who are going through the same challenges.
Join me in this FREE MASTERCLASS, if you'd like to find out how these imposter narratives (that I beleived were serving me back then) are actually sabotaging you, and start making a change to become more authentically confident and thrive in your career without all those negative feelings about your competence weighing over you!
